Hello Again!

It's been a quarter of a year since I blogged here. I have been busy, very busy and more.

The recession hit! It hit some harder than others but we have all seen something from the recession and economic downturn. Prices have increased while income hasn't necessarily done the same. I know of 3 people where only one has seen some form of increase where the other 2 have seen nothing. The question we need to answer is "why some and not others?"

So our belts need to be tightened even more. The company that makes extra holes in belts must surely be making a fortune!

A few things that this blog will go into over the next few days

Auctions - a great place to find a bargain and these days even new, brand new items are sold via auction.
Budget Recipes - our mothers and grandmothers all knew and know how to make food go further.
A change in sales - knowing what the customer wants and sees of value
Public Transport - some countries have it better than others
Vacations - how to have a 5 star holiday and 2 star prices
Family - family is important in these tough times

Keep watching this blog! I am back and can help you save, score and win!

Selling in Hard Times #1

Like something from a Dickens novel hard times have come for many and in like many Dickens stories there are gems of success, happiness and extreme good fortune.

Many people are feeling down, depressed and seriously miserable. I look up, look out and smile and turn an and ounce of happiness into a pound of success. A happy mind is a successful mind.

No matter what industry you are in and no matter if you are a large corporate or humble home business success is what we all aim for and sales for each are key to the success.

So, how does one sell in hard times?

Over the next few days some simple, basic and seemingly stupid tips and advice will be provided. I don't say you must all follow what I say and do but extract what you can, use it and adapt it.

Tip #1

Don't give up.

In the Wizard of Oz Dorothy could have so easily just given up and not followed the yellow brick road to go home. She followed, she followed some more. She made some friends along the way. The door was closed to her. She knocked on the door again. She saw the reality behind a secret. She fought a battle. But eventually she got home.

Giving up is the easy answer. Believe you me I have come close and have often said "I give up" only to come back with a fresh mind and determination to succeed. Giving up is a state of mind, it is often mis-read as I need to rest and re-evaluate. When someone says sleep on it it is often the best advice, but don't sleep on it worrying all night and not sleeping rather remove it from your mind and recharge the batteries!

Keep going, keep knocking on the doors. Many No's will lead to an eventual yes!

Back from the dark

Hello Readers, I have been away for a little while due to circumstances beyond my control. So, the recession became reality while away but for me it's been a time of boom and sales have been up.
